Bringing the AZN Vision to Life: The Journey

Creating the AZN restaurant concept in 2017 was an exhilarating venture that blended my expertise in business development, digital marketing, operational management, and culinary arts. Here’s how it all came together:





Identifying the Opportunity

Since 2017, I recognized a gap in the market for a vibrant, modern Asian cuisine experience in Atlanta. Utilizing my background in geospatial intelligence analysis and market research, I identified potential locations and target demographics. The insights revealed a strong demand for innovative dining experiences, particularly in the metro Atlanta area. By analyzing competitor offerings and customer preferences, we were able to position AZN uniquely to meet this demand.


Concept Development

The concept development phase was a blend of creativity and strategic planning. AZN needed to be more than just a restaurant—it had to be an experience. We defined the restaurant's core identity as a fusion of traditional Asian flavors with a contemporary twist. This involved curating a menu that was both authentic and innovative, appealing to both traditionalists and adventurous diners. We also focused on creating an inviting ambiance that reflected the modern, dynamic spirit of the cuisine.





Culinary Excellence: Showcasing Pan-Asian Cuisine

With my extensive culinary knowledge of Asian foods and background as a chef, I collaborated with experienced chefs to create a diverse menu showcasing the richness of Pan-Asian cuisine. This included dishes from different regions, each with its own unique flavor profile and cooking techniques.





The Inspiration for the Signature Dishes


Korean Bibimbap Bowls

Bibimbap, a traditional Korean dish, inspired our vibrant and nutritious bowls. Each bowl features a harmonious mix of rice, sautéed vegetables, seasoned meats, and a fried egg, all topped with a spicy gochujang sauce. The contrast of textures and flavors, from the crunch of fresh veggies to the rich, savory meat, offers a delightful culinary experience.





Vietnamese Dry Noodle Bowls

Our Vietnamese dry noodle bowls are a tribute to the street food culture of Vietnam. These bowls feature tender rice noodles tossed with fresh herbs, crispy shallots, and a savory fish sauce dressing. The addition of grilled meats or tofu adds protein, while the crunchy peanuts and pickled vegetables provide a satisfying texture and flavor contrast.





Chinese Bao Buns

Inspired by Chinese cuisine, our bao buns are fluffy, steamed buns filled with savory delights. Each bun is a soft, pillowy bite packed with flavorful fillings such as braised pork belly, pickled vegetables, and a hint of hoisin sauce. These handheld treats are perfect for sharing or enjoying as a satisfying snack.





Japanese Hibachi

Our Japanese hibachi dishes bring the excitement of teppanyaki-style cooking to the table. With fresh ingredients like succulent shrimp, tender steak, and a variety of vegetables, these dishes are cooked to perfection on a hot grill. The combination of soy sauce, garlic, and a touch of sesame oil enhances the natural flavors, offering a delicious and interactive dining experience.





Korean BBQ

Our Korean BBQ dishes are a celebration of bold, savory flavors. Featuring marinated meats such as beef bulgogi and pork belly, these dishes are grilled to perfection and served with traditional banchan (side dishes) like kimchi, pickled radishes, and spicy cucumber salad. The DIY aspect of grilling your own meat at the table adds an interactive element to the dining experience.





Pad Thai

A traditional Thai noodle dish with a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, Pad Thai is garnished with peanuts and fresh lime, providing a delightful experience in every bite. The stir-fried rice noodles are tossed with tofu or shrimp, eggs, bean sprouts, and green onions, creating a dish that's both comforting and exciting.



Each of these signature dishes reflects a deep respect for traditional culinary practices while incorporating modern elements to create a unique and memorable dining experience at AZN.




Designing Drinks

The drink menu was another crucial component. Drawing on my experience as a bar manager and mixologist, I designed a range of signature cocktails that complemented our food offerings. These drinks combined traditional Asian ingredients with contemporary mixology techniques, resulting in unique flavors that delighted our patrons. From sake-based cocktails to innovative takes on classic drinks, the bar menu became a cornerstone of the AZN experience.


Introducing Boba Tea to Fayette County

A unique addition to our menu was the introduction of Asian boba tea to the Fayette County area. Recognizing the growing popularity of this beverage, I saw an opportunity to offer something novel to our customers. We sourced premium tea leaves and high-quality tapioca pearls, ensuring an authentic taste. The boba tea quickly became a hit, drawing in a younger demographic and adding a fun, refreshing element to our menu.

Refreshing and fun, our boba tea menu features a variety of flavors and chewy tapioca pearls, introducing this beloved Asian drink to Fayette County. From classic milk teas to fruit-infused options, each drink is customizable with different levels of sweetness and a choice of add-ons like jelly or popping boba, making it a delightful treat for all ages.





Vietnamese Style Fruit Smoothies

Our Vietnamese style fruit smoothies are inspired by the vibrant and fresh flavors found in Vietnamese street markets. Made with a blend of tropical fruits like mango, papaya, and dragon fruit, these smoothies are both refreshing and nutritious. Each smoothie is mixed with condensed milk and crushed ice, providing a creamy texture and a perfect balance of sweetness. These smoothies are a popular choice for those looking for a healthy and delicious beverage option.




Digital Marketing Strategy

A robust digital marketing strategy was crucial for launching and growing AZN. I spearheaded multi-channel marketing campaigns using Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and email marketing. By optimizing our online presence through SEO and engaging content, we drove significant traffic to our website and social media pages, building a loyal customer base before our doors even opened. We used visually appealing posts, targeted ads, and interactive content to engage our audience and keep them excited about our opening.


Operational Excellence

Setting up the restaurant's operations required meticulous planning. Drawing on my experience in operations management, I developed efficient workflows, training programs for staff, and a comprehensive inventory management system. This ensured that AZN ran smoothly and provided exceptional service from day one. Detailed SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) were put in place to maintain consistency and quality across all aspects of the operation.


Customer Engagement

Engaging with our customers was key to AZN's success.
